About Nita June
Nita established DogStar Theater Company in 2016 in Santa Barbara, California. With a background in acting, design, music and directing, Nita feels fortunate to be able to funnel all her passions into one art: theater. From her roots in Boulder, Colorado to New York for a BA at Barnard College, to study at BADA in London and lastly completing an MFA at Naropa University, Nita has learned, worked and directed across the globe. She is proud to be guest faculty here in Santa Barbara at Westmont College and in the daylight hours is an Independent Educational Consultant at Nita June, College Counseling.
DogStar Theater Company is based on the principles of collaboration, whole-sightedness, and shared inspiration. We carefully select plays that resonate with the times, and we bring these stories to the stage in order to spark creative conversation, initiate connection within the community, and inspire positive action.
